White Peony (白牡丹) is a graceful white tea named for the subtle elegance of its leaves, resembling the beauty of peony petals. This lot was grown and processed by nine independent farmers who own small farms located around the town of Ningde, Fujian.
The harvest consists of one tender bud accompanied by two young leaves, handpicked and gently sun-dried over several days. The leaves are then carefully piled for a brief period of natural oxidation, deepening their complexity. Throughout this process, the utmost care is taken to preserve each leaf's integrity, ensuring the final infusion remains pure and refined.
In the cup, White Peony yields a light golden infusion with notes of tropical fruit and a robust floral aroma. The tea offers a harmonious balance—slightly fuller and more robust than Silver Needle, yet lighter and gentler than Shou Mei.
