Moonlight Osmanthus (桂花红茶) is a tea born from our workshop’s quiet pursuit of balance — a delicate black tea scented with fresh osmanthus blossoms, blended and finished by hand.
At first light, osmanthus blossoms are gathered while the air is still moist. Picked gently by hand from century-old trees, the flowers are small and fleeting. Though each basket holds only a modest harvest, their collective aroma is golden, heady, and unmistakably alive.
At the workshop, the fresh blossoms are layered with pre-roasted tea leaves, then gently tossed, rested, and turned by hand. The team closely monitors the texture and moisture of the leaves to ensure the tea absorbs the osmanthus fragrance evenly, without becoming too soft or saturated. It’s a slow, attentive process where scent is coaxed into the leaf with care.
Once the balance is right, the tea undergoes a final drying — a crucial step that preserves both structure and aroma. The resulting infusion is a copper-gold liquor with notes of stone fruit, warm honey, and a soft floral lift.
Fragrant yet grounded, Moonlight Osmanthus is our homage to the fleeting beauty of the osmanthus bloom, and the craft required to capture it.
